Role of microbes in Tuberose Cultivation

• Microbes play major role in Tuberose cultivation.
• Nature of microbes and its population decides the soil health.
• Azospirillum, Phospho bacteria, Potash Mobilizing bacteria and VA Micorrhiza solubilizes & mobilizes major and micro nutrients needed the plants.
• Pseudomonas, Trichoderma viride, Metarhizium, Verticillium, Peacilomyces etc. controls the disease causing pathogens, nematodes and soil born insects and pests.
• Continues usage of these beneficial microbes would considerably reduce the fertilizer usage and avoid chemical fungicide & pesticide usage.

Rhizome treatment

• Prepare the solution of TARI Pseudocon – 500 ml, TARI DermaconV -500 ml, TARI Nematocide – 500 ml in 100 litre of water . Soak the rhizomes in the prepared solution.
• Shade dry the treated rhizomes before sowing.

• Apply TARI Azosfer – 500 ml, TARI Phosphofer -500 ml, TARI Kmofer – 500 ml as basal application.

• TARI Organic plus – 1 lit, TARI Humic – 3 liter apply every month through irrigation water.

Disease Management

Botrytis Spot and Blight (Botrytis elliptic)

• The disease appears during the rainy season. Infected flowers show dark brown spots and ultimately the entire inflorescence dries up. The infection also occurs on the leaves and stalks.

Stem rot

• The disease symptoms are preceded by the appearance of prominent spots of loose green colour due to rotting which extend and cover the entire leaf. The infected leaves get detached from the plant.
• More or less round sclerotic, brown spots are formed on and around the infected leaf. As a result, the infected plant becomes weak and unproductive.

TARI Dermacon V – 500 ml apply through drip irrigation or soil drenching . Apply 2 times in 10 days interval.

Pest Management

Mealy bug

• Mealybug feed on plant sap, normally in roots or other crevices.They attach themselves to the plant and secrete a powdery wax layer used for protection while they suck the plant juices.

Nematode Management

• Nematode species feed on above ground plant parts, such as leaves, stems, flowers, and seeds, the majority of these parasites feed on underground parts of plants, including roots, bulbs, and tubers.
